Stars

Brooktowne Peoria Child Care is rated a 3 star center by Oklahoma DHS. There are numerous requirements that must be met in order to obtain a 3 star rating. Below are examples of some of the requirements, however, this is not an all inclusive list.

Master teachers - A Master Teacher is employed full time, must have an Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder certificate of 4 or higher, and completed Early Learning Guidelines training. They are responsible for the direct care of children, support other teaching personnel, and are involved with program management with planning and implementing lesson plans.

As a 3 star center we have to maintain one Master Teacher for every 30 children enrolled. For us, that would be three Master Teachers, we have five.

All teachers must have twenty hours annually of approved Child Care Training

All teachers must be CPR & First Aid Certified

Each of our classrooms is required to complete weekly lesson plans that reflect the program philosophy and goals based on child development.

Each of our classrooms is required to have seven interest centers for child development. Art, Blocks, Books & Language, Dramatic Play, Manipulatives, Math, and Science & Nature.

Feedback from our parents

Each year we provide our parents with an anonymous survey (they can sign if they choose to do so) soliciting their honest feedback. We find this is the best way to find out what we are doing right and what we can improve on. Obviously some suggestions are out of reach but we do everything we can to implement the many great ideas and suggestions we get. Here is some of the positive feedback we have received from our surveys.
